Assigning Your 6th Men

To designate your 6th man, 7th man, etc, for the week, click the checkbox below your player’s name to assign his 6th man status. By default, the system will then populate the “6th man” checkboxes on the grid to the right, under each NBA game he has that week. One important detail regarding assigning your 6th men: You must assign them in order from 6th, to 7th, to 8th, etc. For your first player that you “edit”, you will see that the 7th/8th/9th man checkboxes are grayed out, and only his 6th man checkbox will accept input. Once the 6th man is assigned, you’ll see that, for the next player to be edited, his 6th/8th/9th man checkboxes are grayed out (as per the example below), and only his 7th man checkbox will accept input. So likewise, once an optional 7th man is assigned, the next player to be edited can only be entered as 8th man, should you so choose to have one. If you decide to change the order of your 6th men after entering, but before submitting, you must deselect them (by “editing” each one) in reverse order from last (9th) to first (6th), then re-select again from first (6th) to last (9th, if you so choose).

Should you desire one of your 6th men to also start one or more games in the week, YOU MUST UNCHECK the 6th man box on the grid (just click on it) for each game that he is starting, since the player can not be both a starter and one of your 6th men in the same game. If you don’t do this, the system will remind you with an error message when you try to save this player’s data.

In the example below, Ellis's second game is done correctly (starter box is checked and his 6th man box is unchecked), while his third game is done incorrectly (both boxes are checked).

The following is the error message you will see if you leave both the starter and 6th man boxes checked:

Click "OK" and the system will return you to the lineup screen with the invalid player highlighted for you to correct.
